PLASTIC PARTICULES IN TEA AND HERBAL TEA INFUSIONS

Research findings from McGill University have been publicized in recent days and some concern has spread among tea and herbal tea consumers. These results indicate a significant amount of plastic micro- and nanoparticles that can be found in tea infusions when bags made of nylon or PET (polyethylene terephthalate) are used.

Our tea bags do not contain any nylon or PET. We use two types of bags with a string and a label for our brands Four O'Clock, Four O'Clock Herbalist. We use a bag made of 100% unbleached paper and a pyramid bag made from a corn derivative. Those two tea bags are biodegradable and meet international food standards. No plastics are therefore present in those tea bags.
