4 MOCKTAIL RECIPES FOR DRY FEB
4 mocktail recipes brought to you by Four O' Clock for your alcohol-free month
February is here and, for some, it also means that Dry Feb is starting. Rising in popularity year after year in Canada, this 29-day challenge encourages people not to consume alcohol for the entire month of February. This growing popularity also increases the interest in mocktails: creative, delicious and alcohol-free cocktails that can liven up this sober period!
Explore this month's mocktail craze with us, with these 4 recipes made with Four O'Clock® tea:
GINGERBREAD ESPRESSO MARTINI
INGREDIENTS
Base :
- 30 ml of espresso coffee
- 60 ml (2oz) of non-alcoholic spirits (such as gin or vodka, available in grocery stores)
- 10 ml (1oz) of gingerbread simple syrup
- 5 ml (0.5 oz) of 35% cream
- Ice cubes
Simple syrup (for 8 mocktails) :
- 1 cup of boiling water
- 1 cup of sugar
- 8 teabags of FOUR O’CLOCK® GINGERBREAD HERBAL TEA
PREPARATION
For the gingerbread simple syrup:
- Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.
- Add the 8 herbal teabags and sugar to the boiling water.
- Infuse for 15 minutes, then remove the teabags.
- Leave to cool in the fridge before using in the recipe.
For the Mocktail :
- Pour an espresso coffee into a mug or small bowl.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
- Add espresso, spirit, simple syrup and cream. Close the shaker and shake it vigorously for a few seconds, until well chilled.
- If desired, garnish with coffee beans and gingerbread cookies and serve.
TONIC TULSI, LAVENDER AND LOTUS FLOWER
INGREDIENTS
- 1 teabag of FOUR O’CLOCK® JASMINE LOTUS FLOWER GREEN TEA
- 1 teabag of FOUR O’CLOCK® HERBALIST HERBAL TEA STRESS RELIEF
- 1/3 of a cup of boiling water
- Tonic
- Ice cubes
PREPARATION
- Pour 1/3 of a cup of boiling water into a glass.
- Place the 2 teabags in the boiling water and infuse for the time indicated on the envelopes.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes.
- Add tonic to the rim and stir.
SPICY ORANGE ROOIBOS NON-ALCOHOLIC RED ALE
INGREDIENTS
- 2 teabags of FOUR O’CLOCK® SPICY ORANGE ROOIBOS
- 1/3 of a cup of boiling water
- Non-alcoholic red ale of your choice
PREPARATION
- Pour 1/3 of a cup of boiling water into a glass.
- Place the 2 herbal teabags in the boiling water and infuse for the time indicated on the envelopes.
- Pour the beer into the infusion and enjoy.
ARNOLD PALMER
INGREDIENTS
- 4 teabags of FOUR O’CLOCK® ENGLISH BREAKFAST BLACK TEA
- 3 cups of water
- 2 1/2 cups of lemonade
- 1 tbsp. of honey
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices
PREPARATION
- Boil 3 cups of water.
- Brew 4 teabags in the boiled water.
- Leave to stand for 4-5 minutes.
- Once infusion is complete, remove the teabags, pour the infusion into a pitcher, stir in the honey with a spoon and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Remove from the fridge and add the lemonade to the pitcher.
- Serve your drink in a glass filled with ice and add lemon slices.
