4 MOCKTAIL RECIPES FOR DRY FEB

4 mocktail recipes brought to you by Four O' Clock for your alcohol-free month

February is here and, for some, it also means that Dry Feb is starting. Rising in popularity year after year in Canada, this 29-day challenge encourages people not to consume alcohol for the entire month of February. This growing popularity also increases the interest in mocktails: creative, delicious and alcohol-free cocktails that can liven up this sober period! 

Explore this month's mocktail craze with us, with these 4 recipes made with Four O'Clock® tea:


GINGERBREAD ESPRESSO MARTINI

INGREDIENTS

Base :

  • 30 ml of espresso coffee
  • 60 ml (2oz) of non-alcoholic spirits (such as gin or vodka, available in grocery stores)
  • 10 ml (1oz) of gingerbread simple syrup
  • 5 ml (0.5 oz) of 35% cream
  • Ice cubes

Simple syrup (for 8 mocktails) :

PREPARATION

For the gingerbread simple syrup:

  1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.
  1. Add the 8 herbal teabags and sugar to the boiling water.
  1. Infuse for 15 minutes, then remove the teabags.
  1. Leave to cool in the fridge before using in the recipe.

For the Mocktail :

  1. Pour an espresso coffee into a mug or small bowl.
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  1. Add espresso, spirit, simple syrup and cream. Close the shaker and shake it vigorously for a few seconds, until well chilled.
  1. If desired, garnish with coffee beans and gingerbread cookies and serve.


TONIC TULSI, LAVENDER AND LOTUS FLOWER

INGREDIENTS

PREPARATION

  1. Pour 1/3 of a cup of boiling water into a glass.
  1. Place the 2 teabags in the boiling water and infuse for the time indicated on the envelopes.
  1. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  1. Add tonic to the rim and stir.

SPICY ORANGE ROOIBOS NON-ALCOHOLIC RED ALE

INGREDIENTS

PREPARATION

  1. Pour 1/3 of a cup of boiling water into a glass.
  1. Place the 2 herbal teabags in the boiling water and infuse for the time indicated on the envelopes.
  1. Pour the beer into the infusion and enjoy.

ARNOLD PALMER

INGREDIENTS 

PREPARATION

  1. Boil 3 cups of water.
  1. Brew 4 teabags in the boiled water.
  1. Leave to stand for 4-5 minutes. 
  1. Once infusion is complete, remove the teabags, pour the infusion into a pitcher, stir in the honey with a spoon and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  1. Remove from the fridge and add the lemonade to the pitcher.
  1. Serve your drink in a glass filled with ice and add lemon slices.
